چکیده
Upper Blue Nile Basin, Ethiopia. This study was conducted at the Koga Irrigation Scheme in upper basin (Ethiopia) to investigate influence of irrigation activity on groundwater system. Representative samples six shallow wells irrigated fields and four adjacent non-irrigated (rain-fed agricultural lands) were selected. Dipmeter hand GPS (GARMIN 60) used for monitoring water table depth fixing location respectively. Arc GIS 10.5 has been applied interpolation (WTD). Water collected analyzed laboratory following international standards. The result shows that contributed rises located which range from 0.77 m 0.52 drops observed fields. Investigations quality (GWQ) indicated no significant effect good management, continuous follow-up its physico-chemical properties are essential sustainability Scheme.

Land-use and land-cover changes are driving unprecedented changes in ecosystems and environmental processes at different scales. This study was aimed at identifying the potential land-use drivers in the Jedeb catchment of the Abbay basin by combining statistical analysis, field investigation and remote sensing. To do so, a land-use change model was calibrated and evaluated using the SITE (SImul...

Climate change is likely to have severe effects on water availability in Ethiopia. The aim of the present study was to assess the impact of climate change on the Gilgel Abay River, Upper Blue Nile Basin. The Statistical Downscaling Tool (SDSM) was used to downscale the HadCM3 (Hadley centre Climate Model 3) Global Circulation Model (GCM) scenario data into finer scale resolution. The Soil and W...
